MONTPELLIER, FRANCE (AFP) - Montpellier on Sunday (Dec 27) named two of its in-house staff, Pascal Baills and Bruno Martini, as joint-caretaker managers of the Ligue 1 side until the end of the season.

The pair take over from Rolland Courbis, who quit earlier in the week with the 2012 French champions hovering just three points above the relegation zone.

"As an emergency we've found a solution which suits us with two men from the club itself," said Montpellier president Louis Nicollin's son Laurent.

Baills and Martini will be in charge for the next six months after which a permanent coach will be appointed, with Nantes manager Michel Der Zakarian one of the names reportedly in the frame.
