The LionsXII bagged a crucial point last night at the Jalan Besar Stadium, when they held defending Malaysian Super League (MSL) champions Johor Darul Takzim to a 0-0 draw.

The home side were on the back foot from the start, as JDT, led by the skilful Patito Rodriguez, laid seige on the LionsXII goal. Rodriguez came close to opening the scoring 14 minutes into the game, when his shot on the turn was saved by LionsXII goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud.

The best chance of the game fell to fellow foreign signing Alhaji Kamara on 79 minutes, who was set clear on goal by a Rodriguez through-ball. However, his shot was saved superbly by Izwan.

Next up for Fandi Ahmad's LionsXII is a trip to the Shah Alam Stadium, where they will take on Selangor.
