SINGAPORE - The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) on Friday (Oct 20) announced that the Lions will face Lebanon in an international friendly on Nov 9 in the lead-up to the 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Qualifier against Bahrain on Nov 14.

Both matches will be played at the National Stadium.

FAS President Mr Lim Kia Tong said: "We have always said that we want to make the National Stadium the home of our Lions, so we are happy to be playing these two matches at the National Stadium.

"The national team's performances have been improving, although the results might not have gone their way. They need the fans' strong, consistent and vociferous support, because that will determine the outcome of the battle.

"I look forward to seeing the (National) Stadium filled with passionate supporters. Let's reinvigorate the Kallang Roar and inspire the Lions to victory. We must stand for the Lions as a nation."

Acting chief executive officer of Singapore Sports Hub Oon Jin Teik said: "We are thrilled and proud to host the Lions once again at the National Stadium.

"It has been an exciting year for us at the Sports Hub, as we hosted various international, regional, and local football events at the National Stadium, including the International Champions Cup, Singapore v Argentina friendly, The Sultan of Selangor's Cup, and the Great Eastern Community Shield.

"Football has always been and will continue to be one of the main draws among Singaporeans. We hope that the home crowd can roar their hearts out in support of the Lions."

Tickets for both matches will go on sale from Oct 23.
