BERLIN (AFP) - Bayern Munich has extended the contract of Germany's world-class goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, binding him to the Bundesliga giants until 2021, the Bavarian football club confirmed on Wednesday.

Neuer, who has been voted world goalkeeper of the year in 2013, 2014 and 2015, is set to see out his career with Bayern and will be 35 when his new deal expires.

It means the 30-year-old is the fifth Bayern star to commit to the Munich club until 2021, alongside Jerome Boateng, Thomas Mueller, David Alaba and Javi Martinez.

According to German daily Bild, Neuer is set to earn €15 million (S$22.8 million) per year to put him on a par with Bayern's top earners like his Germany team-mate, midfielder Mueller.
