Fernando Torres' dramatic loss of form since his high-profile transfer from Liverpool to Chelsea in 2011 has been well-documented, but not even the most pessimistic of Chelsea fans could have anticipated the nightmare of a pre-season he is having.
The Spaniard has drawn a miserable blank in 266 pre-season minutes thus far.
With rumours swirling that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could be ready to offload Torres soon, it looks like the last memories we might have of this once-lethal forward before he departs English football, is the following comedy reel of bloopers, near-misses and bumbling efforts:
1. In Chelsea's friendly against Turkish side Ferencvaros, Torres received a long ball out on the left touchline, but a poor touch saw him bumble the ball out of play.
Mourinho's look in the video said it all, and Torres was replaced at half-time.
2. As far as ridiculous misses go, this one will take some beating.
Perhaps it was the arrival of Diego Costa that has heaped more pressure on Torres' shoulders, but it doesn't explain how, with the gaping goal beckoning, the hapless forward contrived to chest the ball over the bar in this July 27 friendly against Olimpija Ljubljana.
3. Another game, more wayward finishing from Torres. This time, it's against Real Sociedad, when his awful shot from the left trickled wide early on.
You almost feel sorry for the guy, if not for the fact that he's earning 175,000 pounds (S$367,000) a week.
