Kelantan has never been a good hunting ground for the LionsXII and it was proven so once more as Fandi Ahmad's team lost 0-2 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium on Sunday night in the Malaysian Super League (MSL).
This made it four straight defeats in Kota Baru since the Singaporean outfit rejoined league football in Malaysia but Fandi Ahmad's men went down with all guns blazing.
The hosts, backed by 20,000 passionate fans, roared into a sixth minute lead when Australian defender Jonathan McKain shrugged aside the marking of Zulfahmi Arifin to score with a spectacular diving header off an inswinging corner.
Matters were made worse for the LionsXII when forward Khairul Nizam, who was making his comeback after a series of knee injuries, limped off after just 24 minutes.
Kelantan sealed victory three minutes before half-time when captain Badri Radzi curled a 20m free-kick over the wall and saw it dip into the top left corner.
After the break, the visitors fought valiantly but were unable to find any cutting edge up front to trouble the Red Warriors' goal.
The LionsXII's next MSL fixture is at Perak on Feb 21.
