SINGAPORE - British football star David Beckham was spotted at the Asean Para Games on Sunday (Dec 6), kicking off a flurry of excited tweets from fans, and even Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin.

The footballer was watching football five-a-side match between Singapore and Thailand held at Marina Bay Sands.

Mascot Nila was really excited to meet the sporting legend too.

The Singapore team lost to Thailand five goals to nil in the match, which was played by visually impaired players.

Beckham has been spotted at Marina Bay Sands a number of times this year. On Saturday (Dec 5), he was a surprise guest at the Singapore International Film Festival's Silver Screen Awards.

He was also here in April to shoot an advertising campaign for the integrated resort.
