Children get exposure to German drill

Budding footballers will have the rare opportunity to learn the German way at the "Football In The City" family carnival on Sunday at Clarke Quay.

A key member of German giants Bayern Munich's youth coaching team, which has produced world-class stars such as Thomas Muller, is scheduled to conduct three 30-minute football clinics for children between the ages of six and 12.

The rest of the public will be able to witness the training drills behind the German champions' success in recent years.

Football fans will also get to view the German Bundesliga and International Champions Cup (ICC) trophies up close for the firs t time.

Tickets to the ICC, next month's main attraction, will be on sale at the event.

The carnival is the first instalment in a series of activities leading up to ICC Singapore which will feature European powerhouses Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
