SINGAPORE - One lucky reader of The Straits Times has been awarded a pair of tickets to the "Golden Circle", earning the chance to get up close and personal with footballers from Arsenal, Stoke City and Everton during their open training session on July 14.
Arsenal fan Sean Lim, 18, stood out from close to 100 entrants with a video of himself mimicking Olivier Giroud - his favourite player - doing a goal celebration wearing the various Arsenal jerseys he has collected over the years.
Having grown up being surrounded by Manchester United fans, the Victoria Junior College student said he was influenced by his neighbour and family friend when he was eight years old.
Said Lim, who has bought tickets to watch his team play on Saturday: "My family supports Manchester United, and even my god parents are also United fans. I've never seen Arsenal live and I intend to take my buddy with me to watch them at the training session."
The readers' contest is a partnership between The Straits Times, Barclays Premier League and EA SPORTS FIFA 16. Only 100 lucky fans are allowed to be in this exclusive area, which also means an invitation onto the pitch and a chance to meet footballers from all three Premier League teams.
The Barclays Asia Trophy will take place on July 15 and July 18 at the National Stadium.
