Football: Woodlands Wellington beat Albirex Niigata 2-1 in S-League match

Woodlands Wellington notched their second win of the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League season after beating Albirex Niigata 2-1 at Woodlands Stadium tonight.

The Rams went into the half-time break leading 1-0, courtesy of Khalid Hamdaoui's 21st-minute effort.

In the second half, a gallant fightback saw Kento Nagasaki reply for Albirex with 18 minutes left . But the Japanese side's joy is shortlived as Chang Jo Yoon scored the winner in the 79th minute to claim three precious points for the Rams.

Woodands are now fifth in the S-League table with eight points - seven behind second-placed Albirex.

Champions Tampines Rovers are also on 15 points, but are leading the field courtesy of a superior goal difference.
