Football: West Ham sign Johnson on loan

LONDON (AFP) - Premier League strugglers West Ham said on Monday they had signed Wolverhampton defender Roger Johnson on loan for the rest of the season.

Johnson's arrival is timely with West Ham, second bottom in the table, currently without centre-backs Winston Reid, James Collins and James Tomkins due to injury.

The 30-year-old Johnson, who spent the first half of the season at second tier Sheffield Wednesday, is available for the Hammers' League Cup semi-final first leg clash at Manchester City on Wednesday.
