Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was named Fifa World Player of the Year for the second time on Monday.

Ronaldo was also voted Fifa Player of the Year in 2008, before Argentinian Lionel Messi went on to win the award four years in a row.

Following the announcement, fellow football stars took to Twitter to congratulate and praise the new Player of the Year.
