Football: Torres leads Chelsea line in Istanbul

ISTANBUL (AFP) - Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho chose Fernando Torres to spearhead his attack in the Champions League last 16 first-leg match against Galatasaray at the Turk Telecom Arena on Wednesday.

The introduction of the Spaniard meant that Samuel Eto'o was left on the bench and was one of three changes made by Mourinho following the 1-0 weekend win against Everton in the Premier League.

There were also starts for Ramires and for Andre Schuerrle, with Nemanja Matic ineligible and Oscar only on the bench after coming off early due to an ankle problem on Saturday.

Gary Cahill partnered John Terry in central defence with David Luiz not even on the bench.

Galatasaray welcomed back Aurelien Chedjou in their defence after a groin problem, while Didier Drogba led the line against his old club alongside Burak Yilmaz, their leading scorer.
