The national women's football team drew 2-2 with Thailand's Chonburi FC yesterday in the first match of their three-game training tour of the kingdom.
The team, coached by Hisham Roslan, will be in Bangkok from Sep 3-8. A total of 55 players were called up in July in preparations for the tour before the squad was trimmed to 21 players.
Singapore's next match will be against North Bangkok FC today before they wrap up their tour with a game against Bangkok Metropolitan FC tomorrow.
Hisham said: "The team are determined to make the most of this training tour to prepare for next year's Asean Football Federation Women's Championship.
"Also, this is a newly formed team with women of varying ages and I believe this tour will be beneficial in terms of allowing the team to work closer together. Ultimately, we hope to be able to field a team to compete at the 2015 SEA Games in our Sports Hub."
