Football: Simon Kjaer leaves Wolfsburg to join Lille on four-year deal

BERLIN (AFP) - Denmark international centre-back Simon Kjaer has left Bundesliga team VfL Wolfsburg for French side OSC Lille.

Kjaer, 24, has signed a four-year deal reported to be worth 2 million euros (S$3.3 million).

"I think this is the right decision for me to change clubs, I am very happy to be a OSC player," said Kjaer, who made 22 appearances for Wolfsburg last season.

"It's an interesting league and I can hardly wait for the season to start."

Kjaer, who has made 35 appearances for Denmark, joined Wolfsburg from Palermo in Italy in 2010 and spent the 2011/2012 season on loan at AS Roma.
