Football: PSG chief Leonardo proposes to girlfriend on TV after Champs League draw

PARIS (AFP) - Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo was so excited at his side drawing Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals on Friday that he proposed to his girlfriend live on television.

And although she initially appeared to shoot down his audacious proposal, she eventually relented following some persistent badgering from the Brazilian.

Leonardo was being interviewed by Italian Sky TV, for whom his girlfriend Anna Billo is a presenter, on his team's glamour Champions League draw when he popped the unexpected question.

The former AC Milan and PSG midfielder was fielding questions from the show's guest experts, including former Milan centre-back Alessandro Costacurta, when Billo was asked if she wanted to fire one his way.

When she declined, he said he would like to put a question of his own to her, at which point he proposed.

Amid a general gaggle of excitement in the studio, Billo, who was visibly embarrassed by the attention, appeared to decline the offer saying: "No, I'll just stay at home."

However, with several people speaking at once, it wasn't clear whether that was indeed her answer to Leonardo or to someone else.

The PSG chief was unbowed and insisted before Billo replied: "OK." "OK, what?" pushed Leonardo.

"OK, yes," replied Billo, before saying they would have to hold a party, which Leonardo suggested could be done in Barcelona, although he then also claimed they would have to have two celebrations, one each in Milan and Brazil.

Billo presents a European football show on Sky and also reports from pitchside at some matches.

The couple already have a son called Thiago, who was born in November 2011.

Leonardo already had three children by his ex-wife Beatriz, a Brazilian model.
