It may not be the English Premier League (EPL) but Liverpool's retired footballers have done their club proud by winning the IG Masters Sixes tournament at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The veteran Reds, led by striker Robbie Fowler, thrashed an All Stars side featuring ex-Nottingham Forest star Pierre van Hooijdonk 7-4 in the final on Sunday.

The Singapore team, with Malaysia Cup heroes such as Lim Tong Hai and Nazri Nasir, caused a stir when they defeated Manchester United 5-4, with 43-year-old Aleksandar Duric grabbing a brace.

The Red Devils, featuring Louis Saha, also faced disappointment in their clash with Liverpool as they were beaten 7-5, with goals coming from Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Stephane Henchoz, Steve Harkness and two strikes from Dietmar Hamann.
