Football: Live screening of English Premier League matches at 23 community clubs

SingTel mio TV, in partnership with the People's Association (PA), will screen selected English Premier League (EPL) matches live at 23 Community Clubs (CCs) islandwide from Saturday.

This will continue till May 11, the final day of the season.

"We look forward to bringing some camaraderie back to watching football," explained Goh Seow Eng, MD of TV, SingTel.

"Catching the game with a bunch of friends and neighbours is great fun and a fantastic way to foster community spirit in the heartlands."

Ang Hak Seng, chief executive director, PA, said: "People's Association is happy to collaborate with SingTel to bring the Barclays Premier League into the heartlands.

"It is a great way to bond the community, as friends and neighbours, as well as parents and children can gather to watch and cheer for their favourite football teams together."

The first match featuring Chelsea and Hull City will be shown on Saturday at 8.45pm at nine CCs (Tampines West, Buona Vista, Chong Pang, Kallang, Nee Soon South, Telok Ayer Hong Lim Green, West Coast, Woodlands, Yio Chu Kang).

The other CCs - Boon Lay, Bishan, Cheng San, Chua Chu Kang, Fengshan, Hong Kah North, Pasir Ris Elias, Paya Lebar Kovan, Punggol, Jurong Spring, Tampines Central, Toa Payoh Central, Sengkang, Ulu Pandan - will commence screening after Saturday.
