Football: LionsXII v Johor match to proceed as haze situation improves

THE sold-out Malaysian Super League (MSL) match between the LionsXII and Johor Darul Takzim tonight (Saturday) will proceed, after the haze situation improved during the course of the day.

With the PSI reading dipping down to 73 at 4pm - inside the "moderate" range - the match at Jalan Besar Stadium will not be postponed.

However, the Football Association of Singapore still advises children, seniors and people with medical conditions or respiratory ailments to refrain from attending the match. Fans who are unwell and are affected by the haze are also advised to stay home.

The highly-anticipated match pits league-leading LionsXII against their nearest rivals, who are coached by Singapore football great Fandi Ahmad.

With four matches left in the season, a win will put the LionsXII seven points clear of Johor, in prime position to win the MSL title.
