The LionsXII defeated Perak 2-1 in a Malaysia Super League (MSL) match at Jalan Besar Stadium on Wednesday.

Goals from Safuwan Baharudin and Hafiz Abu Sujad helped the home side to their second victory in four days after last Saturday's 3-0 win over Kelantan.

Perak took the lead in the 12th minute when Namkung Woong rose highest to head in Tuah Iskandar's cross from the right flank.

The LionsXII pressed hard for the equaliser and were rewarded on the stroke of half-time.

Faris Ramli's cut-back from just outside the box found its way via a deflection to Hafiz who slotted the ball past goalkeeper Zamir Selamat.

An unmarked Safuwan netted the winning goal when he headed in from Shahdan Sulaiman's free-kick in the 53rd minute.

Fandi Ahmad's charges next face Felda United at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Aug 2.
