Football: LionsXII held by minnows Felda, key defender Baihakki sent off after second yellow

PETALING JAYA - The LionsXII missed a great opportunity to go top of the 12-team Malaysian Super League after a goal-less draw against Felda United on Saturday.

V. Sundramoorthy's men moved up two places to second briefly after they were held by relegation-threatened Felda at Petaling Jaya's MBPJ Stadium. The LionsXII were later bumped down to third when Johor Darul Takzim beat Negeri Sembilan last night to leapfrog both ATM and the Singapore outfit into pole position.

Both teams struggled to find any rhythm and create scoring opportunities in the sweltering afternoon heat.

To make matters worse for the visitors, key centre-back Baihakki Khaizan was sent off in the 62nd minute after receiving a second yellow card for dissent.
