Football: Gutsy Tanjong Pagar end Tampines' perfect S-League record with 1-0 win

TAMPINES Rovers' unbeaten start to the Great Eastern-YEO'S S-League season was brought to a screeching halt on Sunday evening, after a 1-0 defeat by a gritty Tanjong Pagar United at the Queenstown Stadium.

Playmaker Kamel Ramdani scored the only goal of the game in the 68th minute, his inswinging free kick beating a crowd of players before bouncing past goalkeeper Sasa Dreven.

With the victory, the Jaguars leapfrogged Albirex Niigata into second spot with 21 points from 11 matches.

Defending champions Tampines, meanwhile, remain top with a four-point advantage and one game in hand.
