BERLIN (AFP) - German club Eintracht Frankfurt have ruled out signing Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner after breaking off talks with the controversial Arsenal forward.
"There will be no transfer," Eintracht's director of sport Heribert Bruchhagen said on Thursday. "It is a pity that it did not work out, the reasons aren't just financial, we weighed up the pros and cons."
Frankfurt, who finished sixth in last season's Bundesliga, were unlikely to match the 4 million euros (S$6.6 million) per season Bendtner is reported to earn with the Gunners.
Bendtner, who spent most of last season on loan with Italian champions Juventus, has struggled to hold a regular place in the Arsenal squad since joining in 2005.
