MUNICH, Germany (AFP) - Holders Bayern Munich moved into the Champions League quarter-final by eliminating Arsenal following a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

That gave the Germans a 3-1 aggregate victory having won 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium three weeks ago.

Bastian Schweinsteiger opened the scoring for the hosts before Lukas Podolski equalised for Arsenal.

The hosts - who are bidding to become the first holders of the trophy to retain it - missed a late penalty through Thomas Mueller.
