SINGAPORE - Backed by a new $28,000 sponsorship from local sports apparel brand Thorb, Singapore's men's floorball team will compete in the inaugural Asia-Oceania Floorball Confederation Cup in Bangkok from July 1-6.

World No. 17 Singapore are the top seeds in the tournament. They will face teams from China, India, Iran, Indonesia, South Korea, Philippines, and Thailand.

The Republic's 20-member squad will be led by Matt Joutsikoshi and Sonia Chia, who previously worked together in the Asian Qualifying Championship last year.

The event will serve as a warm-up for next February's regional qualifications for the World Floorball Championships held in the Czech Republic in December 2018.
