F1 fever roars into town

The stars and the cars came out to play on the streets of Singapore last night, after days of concern over the effects of the haze on the annual Formula One race. They included Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel, seen here negotiating Turn 13 during the first practice session of the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix. The German is the most successful driver in the Republic, with three wins so far. But most eyes will be on championship leader Lewis Hamilton, as the Briton aims to match his childhood hero Ayrton Senna's record of eight straight pole positions and career tally of 41 wins from 161 races.
