DBS Marina Regatta: Indonesians are overall men's champs, Myanmar take women's title

The Indonesian national dragonboat team retained their International Premier Open title in the DBS Marina Regatta at the Waterfront Promenade on Sunday afternoon.

Their second-place finish in Sunday's 500m race and victory in Saturday's 200m race saw them finish ahead of rivals Myanmar in the overall title race.

The Myanmar national team, who made their regatta debut in Singapore over the weekend, clinched top honours in the 500m race, but their bronze-medal finish in the 200m race relegated them to second spot in the overall championship.

The Philippines Canoe & Kayak Federation (PCKF), which took the bronze both in the 500m race and silver in the 200m, finished third overall.

The International Premier Women's category saw the Myanmar crew come back from a disappointing fourth-placed finish in the 200m race to win the 500m event on the final day of the regatta. This win propelled them to the top spot in the overall championship.

The PCKF and Thailand national team settled for silver and bronze respectively in the overall title race.
