MANCHESTER (AFP) - Australia, after winning the toss, were 180 for three against England at tea on the first day of the third Ashes Test at Manchester's Old Trafford ground on Thursday.

Australia captain Michael Clarke was 55 not out and Steven Smith 20 not out.

Ashes-holders England lead the five-match series 2-0.
