Singapore's hopes at August's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro will rest on the shoulders of three table tennis players and a swimmer.

Table tennis player Feng Tianwei, a 2012 singles bronze medallist, leads a team completed by first-timers Yu Mengyu and Zhou Yihan.

The women are targeting a third team medal in as many Olympics. Joseph Schoolin, whose bronze at last year's swimming world championships was the Republic's first, will aim to write Singapore into the history books again in the pool

A total of 21 athletes from six sports received endorsement from the Singapore National Olympic Council yesterday to compete at the Aug 5-21 Games, with the final contingent size expected to hit at least 24.
