The Cold Storage Kids Run is returning for a seventh edition on May 18, and will be held at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay this time.

The change of venue means the event will be expanded to accommodate 6,000 participants this year, an increase of 1,000 from last year when it was held at the Padang.

Kids from as young as six months old to 12 years old can sign up for the event across 13 categories, including the "All Dressed Up Family Fun" category, a new introduction this year that encourages parents and their children to dress up in costumes for the event.

Distances vary from 800m to 1.6km, with competitive events available for those aged seven to 12.

Said Cold Storage chief executive officer Wayne Allan Anderson: "Cold Storage Kids Run provides a wonderful platform for familial interaction and healthy living, in line with our philosophy of having a balanced, healthy and active lifestyle.

"We hope that the new venue this year will bring a different experience to the families participating in Kids Run, making it a very memorable run!"

Registration for the event begins at 3pm on Monday and will close on April 10, or when the maximuim capacity of 6,000 participants is reached.
