FRESH off her two-medal haul at the recent Incheon Asian Games, national bowler Cherie Tan added another gold to her achievements after coming out tops in the women's Open of the It's Daejeon International Open on Saturday.

Advancing to the step-ladder final as top seed, Tan - who won gold and silver in the women's team of five and women's trios events respectively at the Asiad - saw off her South Korean opponent Sung Gyeung Eun 246-202.

After a stubborn pin denied her a strike and allowed Sung to surge ahead with a 10-pinfall lead, the left-handed Singaporean kegler bowled six consecutive strikes in a row to regain her advantage en route to winning the final.

Meanwhile, her team-mate Shayna Ng finished in 10th position with 184 pinfalls, followed by New Hui Fen, Bernice Lim and Jazreel Tan who were placed 12th to 14th respectively, while Daphne Tan finished 16th.
