Bowling: Singapore's Amabel Chua second at the World Youth Championships

SINGAPORE - Amabel Chua has clinched the silver medal for Singapore at the World Youth Bowling Championships in Nebraska.

The 16-year-old lost to Malaysia's Natasha Roslan 1-2 (158-190, 245-236, 187-227) in the final on Tuesday.

Amabel was Singapore's youngest female bowler at the tournament which is open to keglers aged 21 and below.

The tournament boasted 79 youths from 24 different countries in the women's section.

Amabel finished 19th out of 24 qualifiers in the All Events to reach the finals of the Masters. She then took out home favourite and the top qualifier Gazmine Mason in two straight games to reach the final.

Mason and Japan's Mirai Ishimoto finished as bronze medallists.
