The Singapore Slingers' American import Xavier Alexander driving to the basket against Cai Liang of the Shanghai Sharks in their Merlion Cup Group A game last night.

The Sharks, owned by former National Basketball Association star Yao Ming, overpowered the Slingers 89-67 at the OCBC Arena.

Despite the loss, the Slingers are through to the semi-finals of the six-team tournament, and will meet Filipino team Mighty Sports today.
