Singapore Slingers crush Hi-Tech Bangkok City in 2nd match of ABL play-off semis

The Singapore Slingers cruised past Hi-Tech Bangkok City 95-66 in the second match of their Asean Basketball League (ABL) play-off semi-final at the Thai-Japanese Association Gym in Thailand on Friday night.

Needing a win after last Sunday's 70-73 disappointing home loss to the defending champions, the second-seeded Slingers responded in a huge way, blowing away their opponents who were lacklustre in offence and defence throughout.

Point guard Wong Wei Long led the overall scoring with 29 points, a career high in the ABL, while Fred Goldstein was the top scorer for the third-seeded home team with 20 points.

The two teams will face off in a final game this Sunday at the OCBC Arena, with the winners going on to face top seeds Westports Malaysia Dragons in the play-off finals.
