It is not Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James or Lionel Messi who has the biggest deal with a professional sports team.
That honour goes to outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, who has a 13-year, US$325 million (S$449 million) deal with Major League Baseball's Miami Marlins, reported CNN. The 27-year-old was rewarded with the largest salaried contract in sports history following a breakout season in 2014.
Ronaldo (US$93 million), James (US$86.2 million) and Messi (US$80 million) are the top three earners in sports this year, according to Forbes.
