Basketball: Slingers lose 80-89 to fellow title contenders Malaysia Dragons in ABL

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Slingers lost at the OCBC Arena for the second straight Asean Basketball League game as they fell 80-89 to title rivals Malaysia Dragons on Sunday.

Centre Reginald Johnson led the visitors with 33 points and 17 rebounds.

The second-placed Dragons improved to 14-4 in the regular season and tied with the league-leading Slingers as the battle to finish as top seeds for the play-offs heats up with two games remaining.

The Slingers next travel to Bangkok to play Thailand's Mono Vampires on Friday in their penultimate regular-season game. They will wrap up their regular season with a home game against the Saigon Heat on Feb 21.
