CHICAGO (AFP) - Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls playmaker who has not played since tearing left knee ligaments in last year's playoff opener, says he will not return to the National Basketball Association until he is "110 per cent".

In comments to USA Today, Rose said that despite the fact he is travelling with the Bulls and practices with them, there is no timetable for the 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player's return to the lineup.

"I don't have a set date," Rose said.

"I'm not coming back until I'm 110 per cent. Who knows when that can be? It can be within a couple of weeks. It could be next year. It could be any day. It could be any time.

"It's just that I'm not coming back until I'm ready."

Rose rated his current condition as "probably in the high 80s" and called his return "Far away. Far away."

Rose has spent most of the past 10 months working to put himself back in peak condition and is excited for the chance to show that he might have improved his game - once he is healthy enough to play again.

"I know it's going to be something good," Rose said. "With all this hard work I've been putting into my game, I'm doing stuff I never did before."
