Badminton: Women's world No. 1 Tai Tzu-ying, India's P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal join star-studded line-up at OUE Singapore Open

SINGAPORE - Women's world No.1 Tai Tzu-ying has confirmed her entry for badminton's OUE Singapore Open.

Joining the Taiwanese in the women's singles category are Indian stars P.V. Sindhu, the Olympic runner-up, and Saina Nehwal, the former world No. 1.

Their addition to the line-up for the April 11-16 means nine of the planet's top 10 women singles shuttlers will be battling it out for the title.

Recently crowned Badminton Asia Mixed Team champions Japan have also submitted their 25-player team which features Olympic women's doubles gold medallists, Ayaka Takahashi and Misaki Matsutomo, Olympic women's singles bronze medallist Nozomi Okuhara and world No.6 Akane Yamaguchi.

The latest announcement means badminton fans are in for a treat, especially since China will be sending a strong contingent led by Olympic champion Chen Long.

His counterpart in the women's field, Olympic women's singles champion Carolina Marin of Spain, is also pencilled in.
