Badminton: Olympic mixed doubles champions Liliyana Natsir, Tontowi Ahmad to compete at OUE Singapore Open

SINGAPORE - Indonesia will form the biggest team at the OUE Singapore Open next month, sending a 97-strong contingent that includes a pair of reigning Olympic champions.

Mixed doubles gold medallists from the Rio Games, Liliyana Natsir and Tontowi Ahmad, will spearhead the Indonesian side at the April 11-16 badminton tournament.

They were among the last few teams to submit their entries for the Superseries event when registration closed on Tuesday.

Denmark and Malaysia also submitted their entries, joining badminton powerhouses like China, as well as Japan and South Korea in the line-up.

Olympic singles champions Chen Long and Carolina Marin, defending champions Ratchanok Intanon and Sony Dwi Kuncoro will also be competing.

The home team will be represented by a squad of young shuttlers led by Rio Olympian Liang Xiaoyu in the women's singles and world No. 15 mixed doubles pair Terry Hee and Tan Wei Han.
