MOSCOW (AFP) - Jamaican sprint star Usain Bolt reclaimed his 100m crown at the World Athletics Championships early Monday morning.

Bolt timed a season's best 9.77sec, with American Justin Gatlin claiming silver in 9.85s and Nesta Carter, also of Jamaica, taking bronze in 9.95s.

It was Bolt's sixth world gold medal after the sprint treble in the 2009 world championships in Berlin and a double showing in Daegu in 2011, where teammate Yohan Blake claimed 100m gold after Bolt was disqualified for a false start.

Bolt holds the world record of 9.58s, which he clocked at the Berlin world meet.
