Sean Lim smashed the Singapore national pole vault record on Sunday when he set a new mark of 4.83m.
The 20-year-old national serviceman rewrote the record at the 3rd Under-23/Open Track and Field Championship held at Choa Chu Kang Stadium.
Lim beat Chan Sheng Yao's mark, set in April, by a centimetre.
With this new record, Lim has put himself in the reckoning for a place to compete in December's SEA Games in Myanmar.
