Athletics: Neo welcomes fellow Rio Olympians to the Great Eastern Women's Run

There will be a touch of Rio at the Great Eastern Women's Run tomorrow, with no fewer than five competitors having taking part in the marathon at the Rio Olympics.

Along with Singapore's Neo Jie Shi, there are Nary ly (Cambodia), Mary Joy Tabal (Philippines), Iuliia Andreeva (Kyrgyzstan) and Gulzhanat Zhanatbek (Kazakhstan).

Neo welcomed her fellow Olympians to the Republic. "I'm very happy to see them here," she said. "Having been through the Rio Olympics marathon, we know how hard and tough the competition is. I hope they like Singapore and have a pleasant stay here.

"I hope to achieve a better time than last year and have an enjoyable race. I have always thought that Great Eastern Women's Run is very well organised and throughout the past few years I have always enjoyed the race."
