Some 300 Team Singapore athletes and officials attended the Asian Games and Asian Para Games flag presentation ceremony at the Sports Hub on Monday evening.

Manpower minister and Singapore National Olympic Council president Tan Chuan-Jin handed the Singapore flag to sprinter Gary Yeo and sailor Jovin Tan, flag bearers of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games respectively.

A total of 227 athletes from 20 sports will represent the Republic at the Sept 19-Oct 4 Asiad in Incheon, South Korea, led by chef de mission Jessie Phua.

Fifty-three athletes from 11 sports will compete at the Oct 18-24 Asian Para Games, headed by chef de mission M. Lukshumayeh.

Team Singapore won four golds, seven silvers and six bronzes at the 2010 Asiad in New Delhi.
