INCHEON (REUTERS) - Women's hammer gold medallist Zhang Wenxiu of China has failed a doping test at the Asian Games and has been thrown out of the competition, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced on Friday.

The OCA said she had tested positive for the banned substance Zeranol.

Zhang, who set a Games record of 77.33m with her final throw on Tuesday, becomes the sixth competitor to test positive at the Games, which end on Saturday.

The 28-year-old, who stands 1.83m tall and weighs 100kg, had been the champion eight years ago in Doha.
