SINGAPORE - Singapore's Muhammad Farhan Ismail struck gold on Wednesday (Sept 20) at the Sunway Mega Lanes in Kuala Lumpur, helping Singapore retain the tenpin bowling TPB4 event crown.

Mohamad Rausyan won the same event two years ago, when the biennial Games was held in Singapore.

Farhan, 25, posted 1,270 pinfalls over six games to fend off competition from second-placed Malaysian Syed Umar (1,207), while team-mate Nixon Fan (1,185) clinched bronze.

Farhan's victory is the second title from the bowling lanes for Team Singapore, after Ismail Hussain was tops in the TPB3 mixed singles open event.

Over in the women's event, Singapore's Diane Neo bagged the bronze medal as she posted 863 pinfalls. She finished behind Malaysians, with Nur Syazwani (1,015) taking gold while Eliyana Johari (927) was awarded silver.

In the mixed doubles TPB1 + TPB3 event, Singapore's Ismail and Thomas Chan won the bronze medal as the pair scored 1,694 pinfalls. Malaysia's Rizal Hassan and Hairul Miran (1,967) won the gold while their team-mates Azuan Hassan and Noresham Manaf (1,792) claimed the silver.
