Aquathlon: National rower Saiyidah Aisyah wins the Singapore Aquathlon 2017

SINGAPORE - More than 850 participants took part at the Singapore Aquathlon on Sunday (Oct 22) morning for the chance to to be crowned champions within their age group.

The event was held at East Coast Park and national rower Saiyidah Aisyah was the winner of her age group race which comprised of a 1.5km swim and 10km run.

Aisyah finished with a time of 1hr 37min 21.1sec.

The oldest participant at the aquathlon was 74-year-old Briton Duncan Watt while France's Esteban Guilbert, 8 , was the youngest participant in the kids' category.

Elvin Ting, the managing director of Orange Room, the event's organiser said: "As the years go by, the Singapore Aquathlon goes from strength to strength.

"This year's race is a dazzling display of how far multi-sport has come in our nation and we hope to continue encouraging everyone to tap into their competitive spirit, get healthy, and enjoy this amazing sport."
