Alleged match-fixer Dan Tan assisting Singapore authorities in investigations

DAN Tan Seet Eng, the Singaporean businessman who is reportedly a match-fixing mastermind who rigged games in Europe, is now helping Singaporean authorities with investigations.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said on Thursday: "Dan Tan Seet Eng, a Singaporean who has been named in reports so far, is currently assisting Singapore authorities in their investigations."

The SPF did not reveal further information when the 48-year-old, wanted by the Italian police, started cooperating with local authorities.

The Italian authorities are unable to nab Tan as their country does not have an extradition treaty with Singapore.

In 2011, Tan was fingered by Wilson Raj Perumal, 46, a Singaporean convicted and jailed in Finland for match-fixing. Perumal is now under house arrest in Hungary.
