SINGAPORE - Singaporeans and permanent residents can enjoy an additional year to utilise the $100 worth of credits they received in April last year, when the ActiveSG national movement of sport was launched.

During the launch, those who signed up for an ActiveSG membership to book sports facilities or programmes were given up to Dec 31 this year to utilise the credits.

With the extension, the utilisation period for the credit will be extended until Dec 31 next year.

Those who sign up this year, or plan to sign up next year, will also get the addition year of use, provided at least one transaction is made during the original validity period. For example, sign-ups in January next year will now be able to use their credits until Dec 31, 2018.

The extension was announced on Saturday by Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, at the ActiveSG Under-21 Ultimate Frisbee Competition.

Since its launch, ActiveSG has run more than 5,000 activities - from Piloxing and Aqua Spinning, to school holiday programmes, sport and leadership camps, as well as multi-sport competitions.

To date, it has over 920,000 members, with over 60 per cent of them having used their credits.
