1,000 ITE students being trained, recruited to help plan and execute 2015 SEA Games

Singapore's youth will play a key role in the planning and execution of the 2015 SEA Games to be held here.

This is part of a three-year memorandum of understanding inked between the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) on Tuesday afternoon.

Besides collaborating to develop sports or fitness-related courses, some 1,000 ITE students will be employed as volunteers at the biennial sporting showpiece in two years' time.

SSC chief executive Lim Teck Yin said: "We hope to provide authentic learning experiences at top sporting events, plus their ideas, energy and passion will certainly help to deliver a great show to make Singapore proud."
