Close to 1,000 polytechnic students spent Saturday packing food hampers for needy families in Marsiling, in an annual race organised by the Singapore International Foundation (SIF).

The students, both Singaporean and foreign, worked with Food from the Heart, a local non-profit group, to deliver the items to over 100 beneficiaries. The food items were donated by the participants and SIF staff.

They also teamed up with non-profit arts enterprise Social Creatives to paint a mural along the Coleman Bridge underpass.

Started in 2010, the race, known as the Singapore Challenge, involves students from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic.
